What is Positive Aging?
Do genetics control the look of my skin and how it ages?
In short, yes and no.
Yes, genetics control about 3-15% of aging. What this means is that the additional 85-97% of aging comes from somewhere else… your Lifestyle! Scientists have now concluded that our Lifestyles have much, much more to do with the aging effects of our skin than we ever thought before. This means that if we can tap into addressing how to create a Lifestyle that coincides with our Skincare goals, then we can absolutely affect the way that our skin (and body) ages!
How to I start Aging Positively?
Positive Aging begins with a solid Foundation. In a well constructed house, you wouldn’t want your home’s foundation to be made of sticks and hay. Similarly, you don’t want your skin care regimen to be gold and never address the elements that go into building the foundation that this regimen lies on. I’m talking about your lifestyle as your foundation. You want to have a healthy foundation where you eat well, get plenty of movement/exercise, and then address the additional elements. You’ll never see optimal results in your skin if you never address this Foundation.
